Rostock

We travelled from Bitburg to Rostock. The 10hr ride was insanely long! The regular stops in between made it slightly more bearable=)

North of Rostock centre lies directly on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

The sea was only about a 15 minutes walk from our hostel=) Pretty scenery! awww.....

Upon arrival at Rostock, we checked in to the hostel and went for a Grillfest(BBQ session) organised by the Rostock Catalysis Centre! It was nice of them to welcome us with a Grillfest-much planning and set up was needed. It was nice of them to walk us back to hostel after soccer and grillfest=) The coconut tree had ice! cute!

Thank you for your warm hospitality during our stay in Rostock! It is greatly appreciated! The interactions during grillfest, soccer screening and sight-seeing were nice and will always be remembered!

Kröpeliner Straße, the main shopping street.

University of Rostock=)

Rathaus, city hall-some government building.

The weather in Rostock was amazingly warm, unlike the cold weather that we were bring exposed to!

Körpeliner Tor is 2 of the 32 gates remaining of the old city wall.

Marienkirche is the first church in Germany that I visited with such major restoration works. The church was badly damaged during the World War.

This is the oldest baroque organ that is still remaining. They manageo hide it somewhere during the war, protecting the organ from damages.

One of the bells that were used previously. Due to the war, cracks in the bell affected its ring. These bells are no longer in used. Look at how HUGE they are!! They are slightly taller than me!

Astronomical Clock. Ancient. Complicated. Dizzy. I will probbaly take a long time telling the time by looking at this clock.

Our cosy attic room at Rostock! Reminded me of my stay with Hans' Host Family in Darmstadt=)
