Hamburg: Killing two birds with one stone

Things suddenly seem rather hectic for me these days.. not even getting enough sleep.. writing this entry at 3am on Fri morning coz i will be leaving for Switzerland on 5.sept (Fri) noon to till 7.sept(Sun) to visit a good friend that nicolas and I got to know in NZ and din want to be lagging to much=) Here it goes..

I was in Hamburg last week (29 Aug, Fri - 1 sept,Mon) because there were TWO festivals going on in Hamburg-Stadtteilfest (a small festival at Simon's town where he stays) and Alstervergnügen(some big city festival)! I missed both the fireworks but it was still nice!
The 4.5 - 5 hour journey up in the train killed me. I was so tired but couldnt have decent sleep because it was uncomfortable and cold! Got a bad headache after that but was cured after a pill from Simon's mum=) ZzzZZ slept at 10pm! Upon arrival on Fri evening, Simon invited some friends over for a MASSIVE Sushi making session. We took a few hours and churned out 13 plates of Sushi! It was crazy but nice! The process, food and conversation... haha and everyone in the photo plays Badminton except Simon's younger brother( top right in white) who doesnt! Odd one out!
Below are some of the activities that took place at Stadtteilfest, 10 min from Simon's place with the bicycle. They had an area where they show cased all the sports and dances that took place in the community and it was an eye-opening experience seeing how talented some ppl are. Simon, the badminton manager, naturally had to do something to show case badminton.

Baby trying trampoline! How "garang"!

The crates look so scary! Balancing looks tough.. It would be the first thing i try at the Festival if i ever do... but i did not manage to pluck up enough courage and chickened out!

Candy Empire!

Look at these adorable kids!

The wind and limited space made Badminton very challenging!

Step showcase! I tried this at the Sprots centre on 2. sept, tues with Diana ! It is freaking fast!! But it gets really fun when you get the steps right! Something i always wanted to try and i am finally doing it! Dancing is up next on my to-do-list!

The kids on the right just dance to the music with the teacher.. The joy, freedom, naivness etc were written all over their faces..

Here's a monsterous OX that was BBQ! Din get to get a piece of it...

On sat, we made our way down the town centre to kaypo and see what was going on for the race! Here is the youth group!

They are pro! Some riders came all the way down to participate and try win the first prize, some car!

Alstervergnügen is like Stadtteilfest, but heaps bigger, nice bands which add melody to the atmosphere and many more stalls! Highclass version of our night-market, pah sah mah lam!

How some of the shops look like....

Aint the might shots just awesome!

My coffeemachine!

Random photo when withdrawing money!

Got a free track suit from Simon. the badminton kids got some sponsorship from addidas and i was lucky to enjoy the spill over effects as there were extra kids trank suit! Glad to be able to fit into it! The castle logo, which represents Hamburg is nice eh=)

My week end was good until i realise to my horror that I left my camera in Hamburg, 500km away! Maybe my camera decided to stay in Hamburg as it is nicer than where i stay! Glady, Simon sent it to me by post and got here in time for Switzerland my trip!
