Here ist a delazed post of my trip to Lubeck and Hamburg at the end of November. Lubeck is a nice nice city! The Xmas market made it more mesmorising=)
Mathilda, a friend of Simon from Badminton. I went to school with her for one day and it was rather chaotic! Glad that I am not gonna be a teacher in Germany! So many things were happening at one go in class when the teacher is speaking... Kids talking non-stop, eating oranges, throwing orange peel at one another, the take-off of paper planes across the class room, kids listening to ipod etc........... phew...
Picture perfect of Lubeck! The Xmas market, pretty lightings and the river that surrounds the old city!
Snow fall on one of the days at Simoms place!! Excited! Love the snow in PRague! It snows almost everyday!! Happy!
Nice baked apple dessert filled with marzipan by Simons mum!
Xmas market in Hamburg! Crowded.. Nice Fireworks! I have seen more Fireworks in Germany than I have seen in Singapore in a year!
Yummz dinner!
MEat fondue! Tiny pieces of meat were cooked in hot plant oil in this pot ONE AT A TIME! Nice meal but not ideal for people who are starving... Waiting for the meat to cook can be miserable when one is starving!
Smoking man! Smoke emerges from the mouth of this traditional toy when the incense within it burns.
My first lovely advents calendar in my life from Simons mum! Thanks for all the effort! It was vvvv sweet of you! Appreciate it grately!
Great dinner at Block House ( a steak house) after James bond movie =)
The 24 lovely advents candies that were met for the 24 days before xmas!

Lübeck and Hamburg visit
Frankfurt Christmas Market
We just came back from the Christmas Market. I stayed away from Glühwein coz I was having a headache from the lack of sleep. On the other hand, Nic was a little tipsy from 2 cups of Glühwein which were sweet and delicious! Glühwein is sweetened hot red wine. And it goes well with the cold weather and ambience at the Christmas Market. But people who like good quality red wine will probably think that Glühwein is crap. We met up with Martina and Christian there. I knew Martina from the Badminton Club in Höchst and Christian was her husband that I got to know after doing some stuff together over the weekends=) It was crowded, but we found each other after a few phone calls. We bought some Glühwein and stood there talking. It was nice. I really love the ambience then. After parting, we made our way to Sossenhausen, where all the pubs are, before making our way back to Hochst by train.
I was again at the Christmas market, showing my parents around the city when they came..
Gdansk, Poland
We missed out on this interesting architecture , ‘The Drunken House’, which was located in Sopot, another city which was about 40mins away from
Of course there were times of excitement:
Missing the last train
Due to an incredibly unlucky stroke of bad luck, we missed the last train to catch the bus to the Hahn airport in
Accomodation Hunting in
We arrived after nightfall in
Close shave with Salmonella
While walking the Christmas Market we found a store that sold Kebab. We ate there twice cause it was nice and heaps cheaper than in
Train ride to Malbork
We took the local Polish train and it made me feel like we have done it all. Polish speaking staff at the counter together with bizarre looking text on the train timetable made this a tough side trip to Malbork. We made our way to Malbork in one piece, and walked the castle grounds in about minus 1°C. I was really freezing there. Then we headed back to the train station and had heaps of problems figuring out the next train back. And there was this weird smell of chemical burning that enshrouded the whole station. We realised we had to wait almost 2 hours for the next train. Thankfully I found a 2.50zl (2.50 zwo-ti, about 0.80 Euro and 1.50 SGD) shop that entertained me, and naturally Nicolas, for a whole hour and a half. I fell in love with this furry socks and bought a few pair. Eventually our train came and we hopped on, happily making our way back to
Biggest Brick castle in Malbork!
This was how it looked on the outside! We were execting some shitty accommodation when we finally found our accom sitting quietly at this corner of the street!
"Xmas market" wanna be in Poland! The Xmas market in Poland is no where comparable to that in Germany! The atmosphere is like a Pa Sa Ma lam in Singapore! But the shopping is alot better!
